Mike Gravel goes Libertarian-bye, bye, bumper stickers

Mike Gravel announced today he has left the Democratic Party and will run for president on the Libertarian Party.

The government may not be perfect but it does accomplish a few things. Safe drinking water. Highways. The National Park system.  Sorry, but I just can’t take the Libertarians seriously.

  1. Joseph Marzullo Says:

You point at the extreme of the party, which every party has. The extreme of the Democratic Party are socialists. Most are more moderate.

    Fiscally responsible, socially tolerant.

    Democrats are socialists???!!! Ha.

My objection to libertarians isn’t so much about the Amero or Nafta superhighway conspiracy kind of stuff the Ron Paul libertarians delight in. More like the idea of “limited government” being code for corporate welfare.

I find it hard to believe there are any “isms” left in the world when the historical communist governments turn to private enterprise to solve their delivery of services competency woes and the capitalistic governments look to enterprise funds to bypass voter tax revolts.
